In 1990 Willie Rodger exhibited "The Wee Picture Show". Inspired by the thought that, "It's no whit ye hae; it's whit ye dae wi' whit ye hae" he took small scraps of left-over lino and began to create characters. Based on people he had observed but with himself as model, he created a whole community ...Wee Wean, Wee Brat, Wee Hangover, Wee Old Man, Wee Wifie . The characters, simple, bold and appealing, also featured on beermats used during the "City of Culture" celebrations: art meets design.
