Editing:Cropping Shots

Making sequences shorter:

Click on the selected image
on the shelf.

The box will be higlighted in yellow on the shelf and the shot can then be played in the the viewing window.

Play the sequence.

 

When you have viewed the sequence, drag the small triangle, which is immediately below the large picture, to the exact point in the sequence where you want your edit to begin.  

 

 Click below the blue line and hold down the mouse at that point where you want the sequence to begin.

Two transparent triangles will have appeared when you hold the cursor down.

 

Drag the right-hand triangle to the point where you wish your cropped sequence to end.

The part of the sequence which you have selected for keeping is highlighted in yellow.

Pull down the Edit menu and select Crop. The sequence is cut to your desired length. The blue parts are cut out.
