Exporting as a Quicktime movie: Quicktime movies are much smaller files than iMovie files, taking up much less memory. When you have finished editing in iMovie you should export your video to camera or as a Quicktime movie, or possibly as both. The iMovie project folder can then be deleted. Quicktime is also a format which can be used on the Web. Pull down the File menu and select Export Movie. Change the export setting to: Export to: Quicktime |

If you wish to make a small copy of the video, possibly for copying onto a floppy disk, set the format to the smallest available. Format: E-mail Movie, small. A video of about 30 seconds, saved in this format, will just about fit on a floppy disk. Tick Quicktime 3.0 compatible so that the file can be viewed on computers with earlier versions of the Quicktime viewer. If you're copying your video on to CD-ROM, you could choose a larger format. Click on Export. |
