Is the numbers she counts to,
Trying to control her flaming outbursts of anger.
Sitting there on her bed crying as her siblings enrage her.
As she counts those graceful 10 numbers,
She calms down, being comforted by her tartan teddy.
She brushes her long brown hair out of her blotchy red face,
As the tears run down the side of her delicate cheek.
She is calm now,
Ready to live another day as Jessica Macdonald.
