Seagull

I'm on alert
Ears pricked
I'm on guard
Hearing all the noises of the world
All the threats

From above
I have the best view
As I look down on my world

I float past clouds
-as light as my feathers-
Always watching the waves
Always seeking food.

Taste buds tingle
As i approach the sea
I taste the sunset
Salt fish linger in the air
I hover, my mouth waters

I splash down
I feel the cold water
As it ruffles my feathers

I rise, mackerel in my claws
