Kinross High School: Erin Chick
Under the
Weather
When the whole sky darkens
And the clouds pour out their insides.
I feel your desperate hand tighten around
My shiny plastic handle
And as I expand above you
I feel wanted and important,
Your great and noble protector.
Yet when the journey outdoors is over
You give no love or care back,
Just a violent shake at arm's length
Jerking me to and fro.
Now i lie here, damp in a puddle of self pity,
In between mountains of old trainers and Dirty wellington boots.
And here I shall stay, for weeks on end,
Underneath piles of unwanted junk.
Once again abandoned. Once again alone.
Just another lost umbrella.
