Grandparents

There’s something about Grandparents
That they’re still somewhat young
But at the same time
They’re definitely old

Then there’s the little things
That strikes the eye
Like the skin that hangs down
From Grandpa’s chin

Of course there’s the artefacts
In old glass doored cupboard
With the dolls and ornaments
Lined next to each other

Then there’s technology
That confuses them so
Why buy a DVD player
With no idea how to use it

There’s even a book upstairs
Called “Microsoft for Dummies”
You would with all wisdom
They would skip over a title like that

But they’re still my Grandparents
And still deserve love
No matter how old they are
No matter how far away on the family tree
