Hyndland Secondary School: Ruby Gray

“it’s a long way to Tipperary, It’s a long way to go.”
I was woken by the booming humming thrum
Before the dawn even woke its self

Bounding down the stairs,
Bare legged in my haste
I grabbed him from behind

Embracing him in a close hug
I would fill my nostrils with his sent.
“ho ho ho” his santa clause laugh would fill me.
A sweet elixir of love and joy would run through my veins.
Warming me form my finger tips to my toes.

I would whisper into his chest
“I love you granddad”
He would draw me yet closer and
Hum our song.
