Ayr Academy: Kathleen Barrie

To a Shoe.

I'm a shoe,
Electric blue.

You look at me,
Sitting in my pink box,
You put me on your right foot first,
Then your left.
Your heel doesn't quite fit in,
Your toes are squeezed in at the end,
But you don't really care.

Memories come running back,
Running for the bus,
Getting me stuck in the drain covers,
Walking along the beach,
Suffocating me in your suitcase,
Good times . . .

You look down at me,
You grin your big cheesey smile,
And giggle.

I feel at home on your foot.

I'm a only a shoe though,
But I'm your shoe.
